Essex grunge metal band, Spidervayne, will release their new single, ‘Sundance’ on Friday 1st May 2020. The single will be released through Roulette Records and digitally distributed worldwide by Cargo Distribution.
‘Sundance’ is taken from Spidervayne’s forthcoming album due release late 2020
Spidervayne are a young four piece Grunge/Metal influenced band hailing from Essex. The band comprise of Danny ‘Murf’ Murphy lead vocals and guitar, Kevin ‘7’ Smy, bass guitar, Sam ‘Animal’ Varley, drums and the exceptional Mitchell ‘Faz’ Farrington on lead guitar.
The band started their journey together in late 2017 purely through their love and passion for music. The band have been completely driven from the outset and this has seen them attract attention from press, radio and the music industry. Now just 24 months into their musical journey together, Spidervayne have self-released 3 impressive singles and released two singles on Roulette, all of which have been playlisted by rock radio stations worldwide.
Sound wise, Spidervayne have the feel of Alice in Chains or Soundgarden with Danny ‘Murf’ Murphy’s vocals not too dissimilar to Layne Staley. It is, however, Spidervayne’s live performance that sets them apart from other bands and that will hold them in good stead for the future. With immersive live shows coupled with great hooks Spidervayne are ready to hit the big time.
SUNDANCE – THE TRACK
The track ‘Sundance’ was inspired by shattered innocence and long, gone days of youth and excitement. The feeling you used to have as a child, waking up on those beautiful summers days and going and playing out with your friends, even if it was raining. It felt like we’d play forever. Then we all grew up, the innocence faded, the sunset and the excitement lay down to make way for adulthood. I suppose it’s just about feeling part of something, and all the love and memories that surround a now aching heart. The family, once known, had slowly faded alongside the dream. It’s purely about recapturing innocence. Never grow up and lose yourself entirely.
‘Sundance’ was recorded at Tom Donovan Studios Essex and was engineered, mixed and mastered by Tom Donovan. Spidervaynes artwork and videos are designed, drawn and produced by bass player Kevin ‘7’ Smy who is also an artist.
